Took my Les Paul in to have the toggle switch repaired/replaced and Phillip was able to get me in and out quickly as I had a short window of time. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded much if he took a little longer as I never get tired of roaming the shop dreaming about my next guitar. There’s few guitar shops that come to mind that I’d take my own guitar to when I need work done. Phil replaced them and made them fit more flush in my guitar again without a tremendous price point.
If I need gear, repairs, or just good guitar vibes, Midwood is the place to go. Amazing atmosphere, great inventory of premium brands and products, and everyone on the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Alex has been super helpful on a number of occasions and Phillip (in-house luthier) just took care of something for me on the spot, complete with a quick setup lesson. This guy does some very professional work, and man can he do it fast. His experience really shines through both his craft and communication skills. He set up my Custom 24 SE and added some pick-up covers in under a day’s time even though he had a massive queue of projects. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality of work. He answered all of my questions, no matter how silly they were, and I can confidently say that my guitar plays the better than anything I’ve touched in the last 15 years.
And if you’re not sure what you need, just ask. There is no question why this location has such high ratings from customer reviews. The reviews is what led me to this location in comparison to other "well known" guitar repair shops. I visited the store to have my Fender Jazz Bass repaired.
Philip recently set up my white Gretsch 12 string Falcon Rancher and WOW, it plays like a dream now. I didn't think the guitar was too bad off the shelf - but Philip was able to dial it in to where it plays like a dream now. I'm super thrilled.I chatted with Philip when picking my guitar up and learned he is a true luthier with the schooling and experience to back it up.
